Radical Riddle Racers
After dinner, we began the riddle race. Each of the two teams were given a clue which told them the first place at the church they needed to look. For example, one of the clues said, "Don't think about ditchin' for the clue you seek is in the kitchen." Once this clue was found they would be directed by another clue like, "Go to the room where everything is hyper, but watch out for the dirty diapers." After the last clue was found it would direct them to the bush in front of our house. When (and if) they found the final envelope like Shane and McKenzie did, then they would run back to Bro. Josh to claim the prize.
We had a good time watching you and hope that you had as much fun as it looked like you were having. We also hope that you became better acquainted with our church. We'd liek to extend a special thank you to Pastor Hanna, Curtis, and Jennifer Driggers for their help. May God bless you.

First post of 2010!

Wow, another year has gone by, and now I am writing the first blog of 2010. As we embark on a new decade, it is fun to think of the years gone by. On New Year's Eve I was reflecting on that same night ten years ago when the big Y2K scare was on. I still remember how many people were stockpiling food, generators, etc. My family might have gotten a few extra groceries, but I remember Daddy predicting that it would come and go just as any New Year's Eve past. Well, that night we were over at our friends home, and I can remember everyone at one point or another predicting what they thought would happen at midnight. As we were counting down the seconds to 2000, and watching the ball drop, at exactly midnight, everthing went black! We were pretty scared (terrified). For all we knew the Y2K deal was a reality. Then as one of the men found a flashlight and was checking things out, he discovered that one of the guys had flipped a switch on the power box. What a relief. We had electricity and my Daddy's prediction of just another New Year was correct.
I can remember that year many Christians had turned the Y2K acronym into a godly message: Yield 2 the King! What a challenge. Well, 2010 didn't yield any acronyms such as that, but I would like to challenge us all to strive to live for Christ with all our might this year. If not now, when will we start living for the Master? I pray that in our daily lives we would witness like it is our last chance to share the good news. In our church attendance we would be faithful remembering who we are gathering to worship, and in our family and friendship relatitonships we would share Christ's love and compassion. If not now...when?
May the Lord bless you and keep you this New Year of 2010.
